Overview

Consolidation can make sense if you are paying several instalment loans at once or using an expensive overdraft permanently. The goal is more clarity and – where possible – lower total costs.

We check honestly whether consolidation pays off: we compare the remaining cost of your current loans, including any early repayment compensation, with the total cost of the new loan. If it doesn't pay off, we tell you.

FAQ

When does consolidation pay off?

Mainly when the new loan is cheaper overall or bundling clearly stabilises your budget. A longer term lowers the instalment but can increase the total cost.

Are there fees for repaying existing loans?

Existing lenders may charge legally capped early repayment compensation. We include this in the comparison.

Can I repay my overdraft?

Yes. Permanently used overdrafts are often expensive. Replacing one with an instalment loan can reduce interest costs significantly.

Please note: a loan is a commitment for years. Only borrow what you could repay safely even if your circumstances change. Over-indebtedness can harm your creditworthiness for a long time.
